This website reopened Nov. 2006 for HD video gallery. v is for VIDEO this time. It is just for fun of one of my after-retirement hobbies. Please enjoy a stabilized HD and Stereoscopic video clips. The contents are generally heavy (hundreds of MB and max. 5 Mbps) and require broad band connection and relatively high performance PC's to appreciate them via smooth streaming.

Recently I am using Youtube and VIMEO HD video service and Flickr for anaglyphs.

The original site opened in Oct. 1995 to exhibits art works (ceramics, etching prints, computer graphics...) of Japanese artists, including me by using a variety of web multimedia technologies such as VRML(Interactive 3D CG for Web), Chromeffects, Shockwave, Flash, RealMedia, QuicktimeVR and dynamic HTML. That was a small trial project of "Private Digital Archive". It has not been updated since Jan. 1999 as my job was getting busy. v was for VIRTUAL originally.

■ 3D Panorama with Single Cam 2010/6/6 uploaded

Inspired by the new Sony product, NEX DSL camera with which 3D panorama can be shot by swinging of the single cam. The principle have not be opened yet, howeｖer is speculated to be similar to the Peleg's or David Skyse's method, I tried to shoot 3D panorama by using GH1 with 28mm wide lenses. Here is some preliminary photos ( 8kx1k Over/Under format. Please use SPM for viewing) The practical procedure is given here. As expected, even by strange configuration of 30 deg divergence appropreate stereoscopic pair can be generated by using SPM horizontal perspective correction.

This is an attempｔ to establish an 3D Photo Guide to Japanese cherry blossoms of double flowering at Osaka Mint open for public only at cherry blossom season. It is famous to be crowded day and night. Shot by 3D macro rig with 20 mm pancake lenses + ND filters and GH1's. It might be too soft as I used ND filter to open full aperture.

Shuni-e (Ceremony of the Second Month) implies that Buddhist priests may repent sins of profane world, intensify their piety through tough exercise, and pray to the eleven-headed Kannon-image enshrined in the Nigatsu-do for nation's prosterity and world peace.A priest named Jitchu made a pilgrimage deep in the Kasagi mountains (east of Nara) in 751, where he saw celestial beings practising a ceremony of repentance f or the cleven-headed Kannon. He was deeply moved by the performance and dec ided to transfer it to the human world. He was warned, however, that one single day and night in the heaven equalled four hundred years in the world of man. He was so constant in his desire that he was convinced that he could overcome the difficulty by performing the religious austerities one thousand times a day at running speed.

Here is a brand new beam splitter system for twin GH1, which I design and hand made by myself. Wide end focal length of kit lens of GH1 (LUMIX G VARIO HD 14-140mm F4-5.8 ASPH. MEGA O.I.S.) is 28 mm (35mm equivalent) In order to cover 16:9 FOV, very large half mirror is required for an image splitter. 10" x 4" half mirror bought from StereoscopicMirror.com covers only 0-65 mm of stereobase. The position of the camera of reflecting side is situated below the mirror to reduce the overaweness of the rig. Test 3D photo and 3D video will be uploaded soon.
